Compliance Law Concentration
Compliance professionals must navigate extensive rules, regulations and legal principles. Additional legal knowledge, such as that provided by an M.L.S. with a concentration in compliance law, gives non-lawyer professionals the regulatory knowledge they need to address the complex legal issues companies face.
Coursework for the M.L.S. in compliance includes business associations, corporate compliance structures, risk management and regulatory law.

Compliance law concentration course structure
Foundational course
Students will choose either Business Associations or Negotiation and Effective Communication. If you’d like to take both courses, one may count toward your elective requirement.
Electives (choose at least three)
- Corporate Compliance Structures, Governance and Oversight
- White Collar Crime and Internal Investigations
- Regulatory Law
- Collegiate and Professional Sports Law and Compliance
Learning outcomes
After completing this concentration, students will be able to:
- Explain compliance standards across various industries, enabling the development and implementation of effective compliance programs.
- Assess and manage legal and regulatory risks, ensuring organizational adherence to compliance obligations.
- Engage in ethical decision-making, promoting integrity and accountability in compliance practices within organizations.
